  • Conn "Director" Cornet (Student Model)

Here we have a circa 1967 Conn “Director” cornet. This recently came into my possession and normally I would not put an older cornet like this on my website but, it actually plays pretty well. Of course, I completely disassembled it, cleaned it from top to bottom, raised a bunch of dents, straightened some tubing, replaced the valve felts & water key corks, oiled it and lubed it. If you’re looking for a “beater” instrument, then this could be your horn. It actually plays very well in tune with itself. It comes with its original Conn #4 mouthpiece and its original case, which is in good condition.

    Price: $100.00

  • Bach TR-200 Trumpet (Intermediate Model)

This is a great upgrade from your current student model trumpet. This is a sliver plated TR-200 with a few upgrades of its own. The finger buttons have real turquoise inlay plus the top caps were upgraded and weighted bottom caps have been added. The advantage of weighted bottom caps is it adds mass to the instrument, which can subtly change how the trumpet vibrates, resonates, and feels in the player’s hands. As always, I disassembled it, cleaned everything and regulated the valves. This horn, new, sells for over $2900.00 so, my price of $1400.00 is a good deal. I have also included a Jupiter 5C mouthpiece and a Pro-Tec case.

    Price: $1400.00

  • 1980 Bach Trumpet, model 43 (Professional Model)

This a great horn that is in spectacular condition. Obviously, it was well taken care of, and it has valve compression like a brand-new trumpet. The case is also in like new condition. Maybe it was barely played! Of course, I cleaned it plus replaced the water key cork & valve felts. I also aligned the valves and lubed everything. Great condition for a 45-year-old horn. Call 434-973-4299 and come see this instrument.

    Price: $1900.00

  • Bach Trumpet, model 37 (Professional Model)

This is a circa 1985 Bach Stradivarius trumpet that is in very good condition and sounds great plus it’s silver-plated. I just finished doing a complete disassemble and clean of this horn. I regulated the valves plus oiled & lubed it. This trumpet is a ML, medium large bore, instrument and it has a very full sound. This is such a nice trumpet that it even makes me sound good! The case is also original and in very good condition. Stop by the shop and give it a try.

    Price: $1900.00

  • Bach Trumpet, model 43L (Professional Model)

Here we have a circa 1988 Bach Stradivarius trumpet that has some unique features. This is a 43L which means it has a lighter body plus it has a Star on the bell. This means that the bell is also lighter than normal Bach bells. On top of that, it is a “Large” bore horn. Plus, it has brass, gold colored, slides. It’s a very cool look. The model 43 is known for producing a brighter, bigger sound which is ideal for lead trumpet players. This trumpet is in great condition, and the valves have excellent compression, like a new horn. As you might imagine, I have cleaned it, oiled it & lubed it. Of course, it comes in its original hardshell case, which is also in excellent condition.

    Price: $2000.00

  • Martin "Committee" Trumpet (Pro-model)

The Martin "Committee" Trumpet from circa 1946 - 1947 is absolutely in ready to play condition. Let’s review a few of the people who have played this model of trumpet over the years; Miles Davis, Chet Baker, Clifford Brown, Art Farmer, Maynard Ferguson, Al Hirt, Richard Allen "Blue" Mitchell, Robert Roland Chudnick (Red Rodney), Clark Terry and Chris Botti. I just finished doing a complete chemical flush on the instrument. So, it's clean as a whistle inside and out. I was pleasantly surprised to see how clean the lead pipe is. The valve section has great compression on each of the pistons/valves. Actually, the original nickel plating is perfect. Not a speck of plating is missing from any of the pistons. I regulated the pistons, replaced both water key corks, oiled the valves and lubed the slides. Oh, it also comes with its original mouthpiece and lyre, in case you want to do any marching. I would say that it has about 50% - 60% of its original lacquer. It also comes with its original case which is a little rough but still useable.

See Elswick Band Instrument Repair Facebook page for more photos of this instrument.

    Price: $2500.00

  • Blessing "Artist" Flugelhorn (Student Model)

  • Yamaha "YTR-2330" Trumpet (Student Model) SOLD

This is the current model of Yamaha student model trumpet being sold in music stores. Since it’s so new it looks practically pristine. Of course I cleaned it, oiled and lubed everything so, it plays as good as new. A 7C mouthpiece is included. That’s exactly the mouthpiece that you want for a beginning student. Apparently, the price just keeps going up on this particular model. I just checked the current model and it is selling for $1600.00 to $1700.00 depending on where you buy it. • 1980 Bach Strad. Trumpet, md 37 (Pro-Model) SOLD

This is a great sounding, lacquered, Bach Strad. trumpet. Like all of my instruments, I disassembled it and cleaned it from stem to stern. Plus, it comes in its original case. Cosmetically this horn could be better but you’re not buying it for its looks. It’s the sound of a trumpet of this caliber that you’re buying. Some musicians believe that an instrument sounds better once the lacquer has worn off. The new version of this horn sell for $3400.00! Call me at my shop, 434-973-4299 and schedule an appointment to come give this trumpet a try.

    Price: $1500.00

  • Bach Stradivarius Trumpet, md 37 (Pro-model) SOLD

This is a circa 1976 Bach trumpet that is in excellent condition. The biggest issue with older trumpets is the compression of the valve section. When I checked the compression of these valves, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it has the compression of a brand-new horn! The plating is perfect on the valves and there is no wear on the silver finish anywhere on the instrument. This leads me to believe that the trumpet was not played very much. Of course, I still cleaned it, regulated the valves, changed all the felts & corks and lubed & oiled it. It does come with its original hard-shell case, which is in very good condition. It’s not shown here because I wanted to use my new trumpet display stand. The new version of this horn sells for over $3500.00!

    Price: $1900.00

  • Bach Strad. Trumpet, md 37 (Pro-model) with a Star on the bell - SOLD

This trumpet is actually made circa 1988 - 1989. During this time period Bach was not very accurate about listing serial numbers and dates. Anyway, a great horn with excellent compression on the valves. I just finished disassembling it, cleaning it, replacing valve felts & water key corks plus oiling and lubing it. I also regulated the valves & hand polished it. This trumpet also has a 3rd slide trigger which is handy for keeping in tune those low D’s and G’s. Oh, the Star on the bell means that the bell is a lightweight bell. This might give you a little more “sizzle” on those high notes. I just checked on prices of the newest version of this instrument and they are selling for $3400.00! So, $1900.00 for an instrument in great condition with a double case and case cover is a very good deal. Give me a call to come see this trumpet. 434-973-4299
